Never in a million years did I think my name would precede a dot.com. But when God’s involved, nothing is impossible. This website, besides featuring my personal journey to love Jesus more, will focus on faith and writing. Yours and mine—all to bring God glory!

Here you will find advice for better writing, publishing opportunities, marketing tips, editing help, and prayers of encouragement. Also Articles will feature a growing library of quotes, illustrations, and personal stories. Feel free to contribute by emailing me, joyce.e.long@gmail.com.

Let’s journey together by using our words to magnify HIS WORD!

I love:

– God, Jesus Christ & the Holy Spirit

-my husband Al (also my best friend and astute editor)

– our children, their spouses, our granddaughter, and our extended family

– our friends, neighbors, golf buddies, gardening gurus, etc.

– ice cream!

To relax I read (anything really but especially mysteries, biographies, and spiritually-focused articles and books), cook new “stuff”, garden, play Words with Friends, and relish vacations at the beach and traveling to visit my kids.

Professionally I’ve been an English/journalism teacher at both the secondary and college levels and worked as a communications specialist for Mount Pleasant Christian Church and Center for Global Impact. Currently I am a free-lance writer for The Lookout Magazine and Center Grove Community Magazine. LOVE IT!

Published work includes Real Mothers: a Bible study about mothers for mothers, released April 2009 by CrossLink Publishing; Chicken Soup for the Soul Celebrating Mothers and Daughters [2007] and various magazine articles. Trinity: The Story of God with Us is in its final chapters and should be published soon.

A Simple Faith:

Jesus is the Son of God, sent by God Almighty to be our redemption from sin and to bring us eternal life. The Holy Spirit enables us to grow in holiness each day of our lives. We become a part of God’s family by repenting and confessing our sins, by obeying His commands, which includes baptism, and by affiliating with a local body of Christ-followers. Our mission is to remain faithful in worship, prayer, spiritual growth, and sharing our faith.

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 8:37-39, NIV.
